PFAS molecules are chemically stable and water-resistant, making them hard to remove with standard filtration like basic charcoal or sediment filter. So, PFAS systems use special technologies, such as:
Activated Carbon Filtration (Granular Activated Carbon - GAC)
- Mechanism: PFAS molecules adhere (adsorb) to the surface of porous carbon.
- Effective for: Long-chain PFAS like PFOA and PFOS.

Ion Exchange Resin
